Introduction. Thyroglossal duct cysts are developmental, epithelial lesions localized in the neck?s median line. They occur mainly children and adolescents; however, they also one-third of patients older than 20 years age. The symptoms dependent on size location along path thyroglossal duct. Case outline. This article presents a case, with diagnostic imaging surgical treatment, two-yearold girl hospitalized due to dyspnea, caused by large cyst at base tongue during an upper respiratory tract infection. Before surgery, biochemical examinations, were performed exclude ectopic thyroid tissue. Surgery was applying Sistrunk?s procedure, which entailed excising cyst?s tissue its origin. Conclusion. In presenting cysts, infections increase probability discovering previously existing cysts. A around foramen cecum can cause inspiratory expiratory dyspnea.
